Two of a Kind

Bookmark and Share Digg!

Man and woman; day and night; summer and winter; Heaven and Hell; good and evil; light and darkness; God and Satan and ephemeral and permanent.

'God created the Haven and the Earth. God divided the light from the darkness.’ The Bible.

"And all things have We created in pairs in order that you may reflect on it." The Holy Koran.

"The difference between God and man is one of degree. Ultimately they are one and the same." Adwaitha.

Incidentally, the last one is a Hindu philosophy saying that there is no duality but all are one and the same. They define that it is like the reflected images of the sun found in many vessels filled with water. Monism and dualism are not two opposed things, but things which vie for equality.

Man and servant, knowledge and ignorance, truth and falsehood and life and death are seen as opposed to each other but in truth they, all these ‘two of a kind’ things, complement each other.

Did God destine them to be different? Or are they the same seen differently by different people? This dilemma will always linger.

“Beauty is Truth, Truth beauty…” Keats.
