Freedom and Liberty

"Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty." -Thomas Jefferson

Freedom and liberty are used as synonymous terms but are not synonymous. They are verily different from each other.

To test, put your pet dog on leash. That will show their importance.

Liberty follows freedom.

You open the lock and the man behind bars becomes free. Now he is at liberty to act on his own.

Freedom of self, freeing the self from its own clutches, or understanding of the inner being is the most difficult thing. The possessions are the impediments and the love of luxury stops one from understanding oneself. Freedom from material possession or 'Dispossession' frees the self to travel at liberty in search of a meaning of the self and the ONE.

'Poverty is a great enemy to human happiness; it certainly destroys liberty, and it makes some virtues impracticable, and others extremely difficult' -Samuel Johnson
