Percolating Ethics

Bookmark and Share Digg!

A sheriff was found in a prostitute’s place, arrested and paraded through the streets. A mayor of a city was found having links with high-end call girls. Priesthood is misused. These and other news items bring to the fore how individual's ethics can affect the institution or organization.

Personal ethics form the core of the behavior of any individual and this can not but affect the institution to which the individual belongs. More so, if the person is in the controlling position. The organization or institution earning goodwill or losing it greatly depends on such people who have the decision making power. All situations warrant ethical decisions and such decisions are certainly affected by the decision maker’s personal ethics.

Parents to children; teachers to students; boss to employees; secretary to clerks; party leader to members; president to people.
